Golden E.A.R.S. Update (from Volunteer Jennifer L.) March 29, 2018

Since our last update, the Golden E.A.R.S. Pack has been busy!

During February and March, Sophie and Wilson were out meeting people to promote and fundraiser for their hospice program.  It was great speaking with everyone and we truly appreciate the generous donations and support!

In March, the Pack welcomed Pun’kin and Addison!

Pun’kin is 14 year old long-haired Chihuahua found in Hillsborough County as a stray.  Unfortunately, her eye had to be removed and she suffers from extremely large mammary tumors – a result of not being spayed.  Due to a heart condition, surgery to remove the masses is not likely.  This little girl has a heart of gold and delight to have around.  Her favorite things are car rides and meal time!

Addie is a 12 year old Maltese also found as a stray in Hillsborough County.  As you can see, Addie was found in horrific condition.  She is recovering from pneumonia and will be on medication for the remainder of her life for a heart condition.  Since her arrival, she has yet to leave my side and it has been amazing to witness her transformation!

The Pack also has a house guest!  Mona is a chunky girl (approximately 8 years old) who is staying with us as her medications are adjusted ensuring her health for many more years.  They must be working because her physical activity has dramatically increased.  Her disposition is sweet and she enjoys escorting me around my property in the evenings.   Keep an eye out for the great news when Mona is available for adoption!

In April, Golden E.A.R.S. will be at the Pinellas Pepper Fest – please come out and see us!
